Only people with 'high IQ' can solve optical illusion and spot hidden woman

Optical illusions are a great way to challenge your eyes and brain, as they can sometimes be really challenging to work out.

Good observation skills and a keen eye for detail are essential when it comes to understanding them, and there's nothing more satisfying than finally cracking it.

But some require more than just good eyesight, as an optical illusion recently shared on social media can apparently only be worked out by the smartest people, the Star reports.

According to PinkVilla, who shared the image on Instagram, the cleverest people with strong eyesight and the highest IQs are most likely to understand the optical illusion.

The aim is to take a look at the black and white wavy lines, which are part of a painting by Lee Wagstaff, and try to spot the face of a woman hiding amongst them.

You might feel yourself getting dizzy from looking at the lines for too long, but they're actually just there to distract you and the woman's face can be seen easier if you don't focus your eyes.

If you were able to find the hidden lady within 10 seconds, you've apparently got a sharp mind - but if not, there are plenty of other optical illusions around at the moment to try your hand at.

Recently, people were challenged to find the hidden potato in an image full of cartoon hamsters. It was designed to test out observational skills as well as intelligence, and the challenge is to find it within seven seconds.

Another animal-themed illusion that puzzled our readers recently was one in which a panda bear was hidden amongst pills and other medication.

The placement and colours of the picture's different parts makes this one particularly hard to crack. But if you can spot the bear within 12 seconds, your observational skills are excellent.
