Only one Pochettino remains at Tottenham Hotspur after backroom overhaul

Mauricio Pochettino's departure from Tottenham Hotspur caused plenty of disruption for the fans but his two sons also played their parts at the club in recent years.

Pochettino was sacked on Tuesday after five and a half years at the north London outfit, just five months after leading them to their first ever Champions League final.

He was replaced in the early hours of Wednesday morning by former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Along with Pochettino, his trusted to trio of coaches Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Toni Jiminez were also given their marching order by the club.

Mourinho brought in his own backroom staff, assistant head coach Joao Sacramento, fitness coach Carlos Lalin, goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos, tactical analyst Ricardo Formosinho and technical analyst Giovanni Cerra all joining up.

But what of Pochettino's two sons who have been at the club with him in the years since he arrived from Southampton?

Sebastiano Pochettino began life at Spurs as a sports science assistant after graduating from Southampton Solent University in 2016.

He rose quickly through the ranks to become a first team sports scientist and was soon a regular sight in training sessions and on match days, seen putting the players through their paces and among the substitutes as they warmed up. He was a popular figure among the Tottenham players.

However, football.london understands that Sebastiano has also left the club with his father and the coaching team this week.

There is a another, younger Pochettino in the ranks at Tottenham in 18-year-old Maurizio.

The young winger has begun breaking through this season from the U18s into the development squad with a number of substitute appearances and one start at U23, U21 and U19 level.

As it stands as Maurizio is a contracted academy player, reportedly with a three-year deal until 2022 signed this summer, he will remain in such a capacity for the mean time, continuing to develop under the youth coaches there.
