Only Fools and Horses the Musical extends West End run into 2020

Del Boy and Rodney took a punt on moving from Peckham to the West End.

He who dares, wins – Only Fools and Horses the musical is extending its run for a further five months.

The show will now continue at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until February with a further 100,000 tickets released.

The Standard’s Fiona Mountford gave the show four stars calling it “an appealingly ebullient compendium of what we loved most about the show, serving up ample helpings of wit, pluck, graft and family loyalty.”

Jim Sullivan, son of the TV show’s creator John Sullivan, has co-written the new musical with Paul Whitehouse and teamed up with Chas & Dave to write 20 new songs.

Whitehouse also plays Grandad on stage, while Tom Bennett, recently seen in hit film Rocketman, plays Del Boy and up-and-coming actor Ryan Hutton makes his professional debut as Rodney.

The musical returns to the 1989 lives of Del Boy, Rodney and Grandad: Del Boy is looking for love, Rodney is getting ready to marry Cassandra and Grandad is taking stock of his life. It’s based around an episode of the TV show called Dates, in which Del Boy and Raquel meet for the first time.
