Only Fools and Horses star says John Challis is 'feeling low' amid cancer battle

John Challis is "feeling low" amid his battle with cancer, according to his Only Fools and Horses co-star.

The actor's co-star Sue Holderness appeared on Loose Women on Friday, where she revealed John - who played Terrance Aubrey 'Boycie' Boyce in the popular sitcom - isn't feeling great at the moment.

But she urged people to remain positive as she revealed they filmed a documentary together just two weeks ago.

"Let’s all have positive thinking," she shared on the ITV show.

"But don’t be too upset, we had lunch in the pub three weeks ago. And two weeks ago, exactly I spent all day with him filming a little documentary about Only Fools."

"He’s low at the moment," she added.

"But enough positive thinking and he’ll get home, have some rest and he’ll get back and having us all laugh again very soon."

Sue has remained great friends with John since the end of the iconic sitcom and she admitted he was feeling "very disappointed" that he had to cancel his one-man tour.

"Over the years we have become great friends," she said.

"We toured together for four years after Only Fools ended and of course, four years doing the spin-off series, Green Green Grass."

"I know you’re all interested because John’s had the diagnosis that he’s not been well," she continued.

"And he’s very disappointed that he had to cancel his one-man tour."

John also sent his love to Jane Moore, who was sitting on the panel today alongside Sue.

Sue said: "Incidentally I have to tell you that John sends his love to Jane (Moore). He is very fond of Jane."

To which Jane replied: "I was going to say that was going to be my next thing.

"I also wanted to send my love. Also, all of us because we absolutely love John and the next time you speak to him or if he’s watching now. We just wanted to send him some big hugs."

John cancelled his one-man tour recently due to "ill health", as it was revealed he had been battling cancer in secret for two years.

He had performed the first date in Worcestershire but was advised to "cancel further engagements".

A statement from the promoters said: "Due to ill health, John’s tour is cancelled with immediate effect.

"John received a cancer diagnosis two years ago and is not fit to perform. He completed the first show of his present tour, intending to continue.

"However, he has been advised to cancel further engagements."
