Nicholas Lyndhurst has revealed he will honour his late son Archie by relaunching the teenager’s fashion line, nearly five years after his tragic death.
The Only Fools and Horses actor and his wife Lucy will revive Fated To Pretend, the streetwear brand Archie founded at 17, as they mark the anniversary of his passing.
Archie Lyndhurst died in September 2020 aged 19 from an intracerebral haemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, a rare condition that affects fewer than 800 people in the UK each year.
A promising young actor, his television credits included CBBC’s So Awkward and Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Lucy posted a short promotional film for the brand alongside a heartfelt message to her son.
“For you, Archie, from the proudest parents alive. There are still people yet to meet you. We love you. Mama & Old Man,” she wrote.

Fated To Pretend, first launched in 2017, reflected Archie’s love of skateboarding and streetwear culture.
Speaking in 2020, just months before his death, he explained: “Fated To Pretend started when I was 17 years old and it came from me being a skater and being into streetwear.
“I had originally decided to make my own skateboard company, as I wasn’t really interested in making clothes.
“When I was 18, started going through my life and I thought I could make something creative. I channelled the problems I was having in my life into Fated To Pretend,” he continued.
“I created this brand from my own pain and from my own life and that’s why it’s so personal to me, and why I’m so passionate about what I’m doing.
“Fated To Pretend is always going to be the biggest passion project I’ll ever work on. I’m going to keep working on it until the day I die because I adore it.”
The relaunch, set for October 4, will ensure Archie’s designs and creative spirit live on.
