A rare Only Fools and Horses script from the 80s has started an online bidding war after going up for sale on eBay and is expected to fetch thousands of pounds.
And the actor who played car dealer Boycie in the classic BBC comedy revisited his former character by appearing to be gutted it was not him making the cash.
John Challis said: “Crikey. Wish I’d kept all my scripts.”
The screenplay, from 1989 Christmas special The Jolly Boys’ Outing, has been put up for sale by a relative of make-up designer Dorka Nieradzik, who is believed to have worked on the episode.
Her name is on the front of the script, which was written by John Sullivan.
The seller has posted on eBay: “This belonged to my late aunt, Dorka Nieradzik MBE, who was a make-up designer and presumably was the designer on this episode.”
Only Fools fans who want to get their hands on it have until next Wednesday, when bidding closes.
There has already been 36 bids and the highest stands at £1,340.
In the episode, Del Boy (David Jason), Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst, Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield) and pals from Peckham, South London, head on a “beano” coach trip to Margate.
While the episode aired on Christmas Day 1989, it was set on an August bank holiday weekend.
Scripts from other shows Dorka worked on including Doctor Who and Last Of The Summer Wine, are also up for grabs. Sounds like a proper cushty auction.
