The British sitcom actress has joined the EastEnders' cast for a guest stint this week, playing theatrical agent Estelle Jones.
But her soap career almost started off very differently as she admits she would have wanted to take the part if the timing would have been different.
Sue revealed that she didn't even consider joining the cast of Emmerdale due to having just become a new mum, she said uprooting her family from Windsor to Yorkshire wasn't an option.
In an interview with Whats On TV, Sue explained: “They were very interested in having me on Emmerdale in 1985.
“I had just given birth to my daughter Harriet and we’d moved to Windsor, where my husband was running the theatre.
“To uproot and go over to Yorkshire, I didn’t even consider it.
“I have no idea what role it was for, and didn’t investigate it any further.
“I didn’t want to know what the part was or who was going to play it, because I would like to have done it.”
