Only Fools And Horses' Damien Trotter star is unrecognisable 20 years on from debut

Some 20 years ago, Del Boy was thick as thieves with his son Damien Trotter on Only Fools And Horses and it was the youngster's Uncle Rodney that was the target for his mischief.

Damien was chip off the old block, wearing tacky gold chains and a smile which you knew was hiding a more sinister motive, especially for his uncle.

Del and Raquel must have had a premonition when naming their boy after the demon child from The Omen.

While he wreaked havoc on screen, Damien Trotter actor Benjamin Smith was a far cry from his character and was at that time, starting to forge a successful acting career.

Benjamin Smith - now 31 - is completely unrecognisable some two decades after appearing in Only Fools And Horses between 2001 and 2003.

He later earned more success as an actor when he appeared as the taunting Tegs on EastEnders in 2008.

It may have only been four episodes but his character made a name for himself on Albert Square before stabbing Jay Mitchell and getting arrested.

Benjamin's acting career then took off further when he played the lovable character Donny on cult E4 drama Skins.

As well as that, the former child star also appeared in popular TV shows including Teachers, The Bill, Help! I'm a Teenage Outlaw, Misfits, Doctor Who, Holby City and Goodnight Mister Tom.

The talented star also played Reece Keys in his first TV movie role in Passer By alongside James Nesbitt in 2004.

The big screen beckoned again when he played a poignant role in feature film Come Out of the Woods in 2017, which follows three brothers struggling in Scotland.

In 2019, Ben has played the part of Robbie Lennox in Netflix mini-series Resistance, the sequel series to Rebellion which was based on the struggles faced by the Irish during the 1916 Easter Rising.
