NAGPUR: The test positivity rate (TPR), which is considered as one of the most important parameters to know the intensity of virus spread, reached near 1% mark on Tuesday in Vidarbha.
Total 13,910 tests were conducted in the region and only 160 of them tested positive. With only 1% of the total samples testing positive for Covid-19, it’s the biggest indicator that the wave is now over and Covid-19 pandemic is moving towards endemic phase at rapid pace.
The recovery rate which is all time high since Monday continued to be around 98.3% with 447 recoveries in last 24 hours. Now, Vidarbha region has 12,80,023 total cases, 12,56,575 recoveries and 21,757 deaths. Total 3 deaths were reported during the day — one each in Nagpur, Amravati and Yavatmal. Total 2,036 are under treatment in the region. Majority of them are in home isolation.
Five districts in Vidarbha — Bhandara, Gondia, Washim, Amravati and Yavatmal — now have less than 100 patients under treatment. The number of active cases in Nagpur district was 1,008 on Tuesday which is likely to be in the three-figures by Wednesday.
As far as Nagpur is concerned, total 7,478 tests were conducted with 58 of them positive. Total case load reached 5,77,217 including 5,65,876 recoveries and 10,333 deaths reported so far. Nagpur’s test positivity rate was less than 1% on Tuesday.
Akola: 17 were positive. With 53 recoveries in the day, the district now has 123 patients under treatment.
Washim: 279 tests were conducted in Washim district on Tuesday. Out of them, six tested positive. Total 23 patients recovered in the day. Now, Washim has 45,698 total cases, including 44,977 recoveries and 641 deaths so far. Only 81 patients are under treatment.
Buldhana: Out of the 414 total tests conducted, 9 tested positive. This took total case load of the district to 98,881. With 98,056 recoveries and 688 deaths so far, Buldhana has 137 patients under treatment.
Bhandara: Five new cases were detected. Total 1,473 tests were conducted. Now the district has 61 patients under treatment.
Gondia: Only 1 new case was reported on Tuesday out of 249 tests. Eight patients recovered. Now, the district has only 39 patients under treatment — lowest in Vidarbha.
Gadchiroli: Total 18 new cases were reported while 66 patients recovered in last 24 hours in Gadchiroli. Now, the district has 175 patients under treatment.
Wardha: A death was reported in district, taking the toll to 1,349 on Tuesday. 11 new cases and 33 discharges were reported while 552 test reports were received. The caseload increased to 58,051, recoveries to 56,968, leaving 121 active positive under treatment in district.
Yavatmal: One death was recorded, taking the death toll to 1803. Currently there are 90 active positive patients of whom 9 are in hospital isolation and 81 are in home quarantine. Of the 79,029 positives, 77,136 including 14 on Tuesday have recovered.
Amravati: 17 new cases took the district’s caseload to 1,05,891 on Tuesday even as one death took the toll to 1,589. With 13 recoveries, the total reached 1,04,172, leaving 98 cases under treatment.
Chandrapur: 1,222 Covid tests conducted during last 24 hours led to detection of 10 new cases on Tuesday. With discharge of 37 patients, there are 103 active patients under treatment. The day remained casualty free.
