BHOPAL: A total of 42 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.
Recoveries stood at only 43 taking the number of active cases to 298 from a high of of 299 reported the previous day. However, it still remains a cause of concern as the number of active cases was only 136 as on March 31.
On May 16 - some 10 days age - it was after a gap of two months that the number of active cases in MP crossed the 250-mark as 262 active patients were reported then.
Only 8,477 samples were tested across the state on Saturday. New infections were reported from 16 of the 52 districts of the state. Bhopal alone reported 10 cases, while Raisen reported eight new cases. Chhatarpur, Guna and Indore reported three new cases each, Gwalior, Hoshangabad, Morena and Tikamgarh districts reported two new cases each and Betul, Burhanpur, Harda, Niwari, Sehore, Ujjain and Vidisha reported one new case each. Positivity rate stood at 0.4%.
