Online retailer Yandy appears to have taken inspiration from the coronavirus pandemic with a new hand sanitiser Halloween themed costume.
The costume, which is available for $69.95 (£54), features a light green bodysuit and matching transparent vinyl dress.
Velcro straps on the dress read: "Yandy hand sanitiser. Kills 99.99 per cent of germs".
The costume also comes with a bottle of hand sanitiser, a product that was stripped from the shelves at the start of the Covid-19 crisis in March as shoppers stockpiled essential items.
The outfit is advertised on the website with a description that reads: "Did you disinfect from head to toe cause you're glowing with that germ-free vibe!
"Just a pump is all it takes to put bacteria at bay. Wash away the dirt of the day, and soak in that squeaky clean feeling in this exclusive Hand Sanitizer costume".
One social media appeared to be not too impressed with the theme of the costume.
"A Sexy Hand Sanitizer costume is not anything my mind could have imagined before 2020," they wrote on Twitter.
However Yandy's vice president of merchandising told Business Insider that the company would not be selling "sexy Covid" costumes this year.
Pilar Quintana-Williams said: "I don't think there's anything sexy about it.
She added: "I think that it has been a difficult year for everybody with quarantine, with all the changes.
"So the stakes are high. But again, we want to bring humour and we want to bring light heartedness to the holiday."
