Hamilton’s online reality star James Drummond is holding a charity football match with a host of celebrity pals.
He hit the headlines with Glow – Glasgow’s answer to The Only Way is Essex – before it was axed in 2018.
Drummy now plays for, and helps run, Hamilton Accies over-35s with pal and team manager Peter Loudon.
And the outfit are set to play a celebrity-packed Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation select XI at Hamilton Accies’ stadium on Sunday, May 5.
The match will raise money for the Lanarkshire-based charity who make dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.
It will also include fun for all the family with bouncy castles, inflatables, facepainting and of course the chance to catch a glimpse of some of your favourite ex-professional football players and television stars.
James told the Advertiser: “On Sunday, May 5, Hamilton Accies 35s team will take on a Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation celebrity select squad to raise as much money as we can for charity.
“This will be a full event for all the family, with some great former footballers, TV stars and many more guests – but most importantly it’s all about raising a few quid for a very good cause.
“So please get yourselves down to the stadium for a day of good old family Sunday fun.”
Those set to take part in DreamMaker team include River City stars, former Hamilton and Rangers defender Marvin Andrews, ex-Alloa centre forward Chris Mackie, Glow reality stars Brian Matthews and Tony Elliott, ex-Accies player Alan Ferguson and professional champion boxer Willie Limond.
James’ team includes former Motherwell midfielder Jim Paterson, former Kilmarnock player Jim Lauchlan, ex-Dunfermline player Andy Barrowman and former St Mirren star Jamie Dunbar, among others.
In September 2014 Les Hoey’s DreamMaker Foundation became a registered charity to enable them to grow and bring a smile to the faces of a greater number of children.
Over the years they have helped children who are going through gruelling treatments meet their idols. This has included celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, McBusted, The Script and the Scotland football team. The children are also given the chance to go along to concerts, theatre shows, football games, outings or anything they desire to make their lives a little more bearable during this hard time.
The match is being sponsored by Hope CBD and the fun will start at 1pm.
