Online giant Amazon opening Deeside delivery station to serve customers in Cheshire and Flintshire

A new delivery station in North Wales will be opened by Amazon this spring.

Packages will be shipped to the delivery station in The Airfields, Deeside from Amazon fulfilment and sortation centres and loaded onto vehicles to get delivered to customers in Cheshire and Flintshire.

Amazon will create more than 50 permanent jobs at the 9,000 square metre delivery station.

In addition, the independent delivery companies will hire around 300 drivers who will collect parcels from the delivery station and deliver them to Amazon customers.

Flintshire County Council’s cabinet member for Economic Development, cllr Derek Butler, said: “This is great news for Flintshire as we start to see the development of the Airfields.

"It’s encouraging to see companies choosing to invest in our local economy and providing employment for our residents.”

Kerry-Anne Lawlor, country director for Amazon Logistics said: “We are excited to open a delivery station in Deeside where Amazon’s 20+ years of operational expertise, technology advancements and investment in transportation infrastructure is enabling faster delivery for customers than ever before seven days a week.”
