Online celebration for Armed Forces Day

West Lothian singer Amy Hawthorn is to perform a free show online to mark Armed Forces Day.

Amy will be performing during the live stream on the Facebook page of West Lothian Armed Forces Day at 3pm on Sunday, June 28.

The usual annual Armed Forces Day at West Lothian Civic Centre was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic so the organisers looked for an alternative solution to mark the day.

Chairman of the West Lothian AFD event, Stephen Elliot, explained the purpose of the celebration is to show support for the armed forces in a fun and engaging way.

Holding a live event online seemed like the perfect replacement for the usual annual events so organisers asked local musician and committee member, Stuart McLean, for help.

He brought aboard Amy, who he knew to be a regular supporter of armed forces charities, and she agreed to perform free of charge.

Tune in and enjoy the free 45 minute show on June 28 at https://www.facebook.com/WestLothianAFD
