Online car finance broker used by Auto Trader and Gumtree eyes 150 new hires

An online car finance broker, which works with the likes of Auto Trader and Gumtree, is aiming to reach 150 new hires by the end of the year.

Zuto has taken on 105 new members of staff during the first four months of 2022.

The company, which has offices in Manchester and Macclesfield, used to be called Car Loan 4U and was founded by James Wilkinson and Ryan Dignan in 2006.

To date, the company has secured £17m investment from Scottish Equity Partners, whose previous investments include Skyscanner.

The update comes after BusinessLive reported the company had achieved made a pre-tax profit for the first time since 2015 during its latest financial year.

Zuto has also reported a turnover of £27.9m, up from £24.6m.

Mr Wilkinson, who serves as the firm's chief executive, said: "Since the very start of our journey, we have been on a mission to change things for the better – not only for our customers, but also for our local community, our Zutonites, and the planet.

"We want to make the car finance experience as transparent as possible for customers and we are focused on creating a great environment for employees by fostering a culture of equality and sustainability.

"The recruitment drive will strengthen all departments of the company, including sales, contact centre and product development. In our technology division alone we have recently welcomed an intake of graduate developers and a machine learning engineer.

"We are now on the lookout for more like-minded individuals and people looking to make a real difference."

Zuto has also recently achieved B Corp status.

The CEO added: "Becoming a B Corp is the single proudest thing that has happened at Zuto and it comes at an exciting time for us as a business, as we go through a period of exponential growth."
