Martin O'Neill has confirmed Celtic are progressing on a deal to sign Kasper Hogh.
The Parkhead club are set to land the Bodo/Glimt forward in a record-breaking deal worth upwards of £11m.
Celtic have been long-term admirers of the Denmark internationalist and now appear to be closing in on a deal to sign him on a lengthy contract.
"Yes, I'm hoping that that will happen," O'Neill said of signing Hogh.
"I think there's a good chance of it. But until someone's actually signed and sealed, there might be things still up in the air.
"But it's certainly progressing."
On a timeline for the deal, O'Neill stated Hogh is due to have a medical in the next 24 hours.
"Yes, apparently so," said the Celtic boss. "He will have one in the next 24 hours, I think."

However, O'Neill was less forthcoming on any transfer business to sign Paderborn midfielder MIka Baur.
Celtic have been linked with a move for the German playmaker in recent days but the Celtic manager would not be drawn on whether a bid will be made for the player.
He said: "That I genuinely can't tell you. I genuinely cannot tell you at this minute.
"I've been preparing for this game. I'll see where we are tomorrow and things.
"We've got a few other things in the pipeline that might come to fruition, which would be great for us."
