One-year-old baby dies suddenly in Govan

A one year-old-baby has died suddenly in Govan.

Police were to called to Jura Street yesterday morning after reports of the sudden death of the child.

The baby was taken to the Glasgow Royal Hospital for Children but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances however officers are treating the death as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.20am on Thursday, 31 December, 2020, police received a report of the sudden death of a 1-year-old baby at a property in Jura Street, Glasgow.

"The baby was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, however, pronounced dead a short time later.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances although the death is being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem."
