One win will help East Bengal get back the rhythm in ISL: Interim coach Bino George

KOLKATA: Interim coach Bino George believes East Bengal FC are one win away from getting their ‘rhythm’ back as he begins the post Carles Cuadrat era with an away match against Jamshedpur FC on Saturday.

“I respect coach Carles for laying the foundation and his contribution over the past one-and-a-half seasons. One win in the ISL will help us get back the rhythm. My job is to motivate the boys and bring the best out of them,” George — under whose tutelage the red-and-gold reserve team is leading the local league with an unbeaten run — said.

Cuadrat decided to step down as East Bengal coach following three successive defeats in the ISL’s 2024-2025 season.

“I have full faith in our players and their quality. They have been working very hard. Yes, the last three matches didn't go our way and we made some mistakes. That said, I know the boys can come back stronger. That's what East Bengal is all about. They know their responsibilities well,” George added.

While Jamshedpur have 6 points from 3 matches, East Bengal are at the bottom of the table having lost all their matches.

George, however, is confident that his team can break the jinx.

“The ISL is a long league and we still have 21 matches left. The players are bonding well. We have built a strong team this season. We have been working very hard for a win. I hope we can play well and win against Jamshedpur FC,” he said after a training session on Thursday.
