A lane of the M62 motorway towards Manchester was closed tonight after a car came off the road.
Dramatic pictures showed a car significantly damaged after crashing off the M62 between junction 23 and 22 and ending up at the bottom of a hill between the westbound and eastbound carriageway.
The lane was closed around 6pm while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The incident was Tweeted by West Yorkshire Police with the ambulance service also called.
Despite the damage done to the car in the crash the driver only suffered 'minor injuries', police said.
"First Motorway incident for the late shift today, assisted by Highways Yorkshire and Yorkshire Ambulance.
"One very lucky driver, only minor injuries!"
