Marcelo Bielsa has been hailed as a 'genius' for his tactical decisions that impacted Leeds United's resounding victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Patrick Bamford opened the scoring at Elland Road, but was hauled off at half-time, with Bielsa introducing Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez at the break.
Each substitution proved to be vital as Alioski netted the second goal of the match, while Hernandez played a perfectly-weighted pass to Jack Harrison for the Whites' third of the afternoon.
While the decision to take off Bamford after he netted against the Cottagers may have raised eyebrows, the second-half performance was down to Bielsa's changes and Ian Holloway has praised the Argentine boss.
“I think Bielsa is a genius. His experience is incredible, he knew what was wrong with his team, he made two changes and those changes were brilliant," he told EFL on Quest.
"One of them scored and one of them created one. I’ve heard pundits say he’s a one-trick pony, but you’ve got to be kidding me.”
Leeds are now 14 points away from securing a long-awaited return to the Premier League, but Holloway is aware there is work to be done.
“Twenty-one points are left to fight for and you can see the fight is what you’re going to have to do. The level is so fantastic, it’s unbelievable. They’re going to have to see it through.”
Leeds United are back in action on Tuesday against relegation-threatened Luton Town, which kickstarts a run of four matches in 13 days.
If Leeds and Brentford both win their next four matches, the Whites could seal promotion on July 15 against Barnsley at Elland Road.
