Icky Thump, it's the White Stripes' new album.
Look at the picture above. It's the new White Stripes album cover, which sees Jack and Meg dressed as a right pair of Pearly Queens. This for their album, to be called Icky Thump. So which other quintessentially British elements will feature on the Michigan duo's new LP? We can exclusively reveal a few below, but maybe you've heard some too.
• Jack White is to play the bagpipes on new track, Och Aye the Blues. The song finishes with a screaming four minute pipes solo.
• A world tour to promote the album will start in the autumn. For the purposes of travelling between venues, the band will use a battered Ford Transit.
• Meg has extended her current range of percussion, adding Melton Mowbray pork pies to her drum kit. She apparently likes the "thud" they give off.
• Traditional British singers have been asked to contribute to the disc. Max Bygraves has bowed out due to pre-arranged commitments. He will be replaced by Kenny Lynch.
• The album launch party will take place at Thurrock services.
