One-third eligible Bhopalis yet to get second dose

BHOPAL: About one-third of the people eligible for second dose of Covid-19 vaccine are yet to get the jab in Bhopal. Around 11.85 lakh eligible people in the state capital are fully vaccinated so far.

The figure going by 84-day eligibility should have been about three lakh more as of this week. As vaccination had picked up in September substantially, the eligible list will increase to 3.80 lakh by November 13, according to estimates.

“We expect post festive season the vaccination rate would once again pick up. Doorto-door campaign and individual calling has been initiated,” said a Bhopalimmunization officer. Around 3.85 lakh people have opted for Covaxin while majority of 28.11 lakh people have been vaccinated through Covishield.

29. More than five weeks on, the vaccination rate has dropped drastically.

Only 585 doses of vaccine were administered on Sunday with 28 sites conducting vaccination. Total vaccination doses administered in Bhopal stood at 31,99,518 on Sunday. Dose one has been administered to 20,14,461 people. The initial estimate was 19.5 lakh. As many as 11,85,057 individuals are full vaccinated.
