'One thing Emery was right about' - Arsenal fans raving over what Christopher Nkunku has done

Arsenal fans will not exactly remember Unai Emery fondly.

The former head coach failed in his mission to take Arsenal back into the Champions League after taking over the reins from the departed Arsene Wenger.

He had ample opportunity to do so in his first season, too, and when things did not get any better in his second season, in fact things got worse, the Spaniard was given the boot.

Emery was replaced by former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta and the supporters are starting to see shoots of improvement in the side.

Arteta has been praised for addressing the key areas that needed addressing in the January transfer window, bringing in defensive reinforcements in the shape of Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari, if only as short-term loan fixes.

Emery had brought in Kieran Tierney and David Luiz in the summer, but Tierney has struggled with injures and Luiz has hardly covered himself in glory since his move from Chelsea.

One player that was linked with Arsenal during the Emery era, however, was Christopher Nkunku.

The Paris Saint-Germain star was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, last January but stayed put before eventually joining RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga last summer.

And he came to the fore on Saturday when he scored a stunner against Borussia Monchengladbach to secure a 2-2 draw.

That got the Arsenal fans talking on Twitter.

As you can see it led to a number of people suggesting that was the one thing Unai Emery did right - wanting to sign him.

While others pointed to the moves for Denis Suarez and Dani Ceballos instead of signing him as mistakes that have been made in the transfer market.

Nkunku will remain on Arsenal fans' lips if he continues to hit form in Germany.
