One rushed to hospital after car smashes into a lamp post in late night collision

A person was rushed to hospital after a car smashed into a lamp post in a late-night collision in Dublin.

Firefighters from Phibsborough were alerted to the scene of the crash on Church Road East on Friday.

Paramedics treated one person at the scene before they were taken to hospital.

These images show the extent of damage caused as the car plunged into the lamp post bringing it down.

Members of the Dublin City Council lighting team had to isolate the electricity feed to the lamp post following the crash.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade said on Twitter: "Firefighter/Paramedics from Phibsborough treated and transported one patient from this single-vehicle collision on Church Road East last night.
