One Piece season 2 is finally out on Netflix, and honestly, this is the greatest live-action adventure we've seen the Straw Hats embark on yet. One Piece season 2 release date

One Piece season 2 officially released on March 10, 2026. This was a long time coming as filming wrapped on February 4, after the production started in June 2024. The first season premiered on August 4, 2023, marking a little under three years between seasons (which makes sense, given the practical, built-out sets, stunts, and FX). You can see Netflix's post sharing the release date with the new poster down below.

One Piece season 2 reviews

One Piece season 2 reviews are still coming in, but (at the time of writing) it looks like the general consensus is that it is great. In fact, critics have been praising it for being a bold and near-perfect adaptation of the anime. And personally, we agree with the statement.Writer David Opie, gave the season a glowing 4.5-star score in our One Piece season 2 review, writing: "This is the live-action adaptation that longtime fans deserve, and its continued success could be a game-changer for anime's future, too." Season 2 really embraces the chaos of One Piece and nails the tone in a way that season 1 fumbled with a bit. It's a joy to watch, and we very much recommend checking it out for yourself.

One Piece season 2 trailer
The final trailer for One Piece season 2 arrived on March 3, 2026, exactly a week before the new episodes landed on Netflix. In the promo, which you can watch above, Zoro goes up against Daniel Lasker's Mr. 9, Luffy rallies the troops, and the crew encounters... dinosaurs. Netflix previously released two shorter trailers, as well as a behind-the-scenes teaser during Geeked Week that has since been made private. In the clip, we saw the cast having a table reading, and we got a brief look at Chopper as well! The streamer also released a set tour video (which is still live) that showed fans a bunch of costumes and impressive-looking props like canons and whatnot (you know, typical pirate things). How many seasons of One Piece will there be?

Right now, only three pieces of One Piece have been officially confirmed. There have been talks of mapping out story plans for six seasons, while the producers are eyeing up to 12 seasons to adapt the bulk of the source material."We're over 1,080 chapters at this point in the manga. We have plans with [co-showrunner] Matt Owens for how we would break multiple seasons, and I think even if we did six seasons, we would probably only use up half of the chapters of the manga. It really could go on and on and on," producer Becky Clements told Deadline.
