One person taken to hospital following car smash in Crumpsall

One person has been taken to hospital following a two car smash in Crumpsall.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Middleton Road, at the junction with Crumpsall Lane, just after 8.30pm on Tuesday, February 3.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said one person has been taken to hospital.

She said their injuries are not thought to be serious.

Both vehicles could be seen badly damaged after the smash.

Traffic lights also appear to have been completely flattened by one of the cars.

Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene (ASP)

The junction was closed by police on Tuesday evening, but has since re-opened.

A number of police cars and a North West Ambulance Service vehicle attended the scene.

There are no reports of any arrests.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We’ve been called by the ambulance service to a report of a two vehicle collision at Crumpsall Lane and Middleton Road at 8.37am on March 4, 2020."

A statement from NWAS said: "We were called at 8.34pm. We attended with an ambulance.

"We have taken on person to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be serious."
