One person taken to hospital after 'falling from bonfire' in Newtownards

One person has been taken to hospital after allegedly falling from a bonfire in Newtownards.

The emergency services were called to the incident at Portaferry Road in the town at around 10pm on July 11.

It is understood that a person has been injured after falling from a bonfire and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A large crowd had gathered in the area at the time of the incident and the injured person was taken inside the nearby fire station until an ambulance arrived.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police responded to a report of an incident at a bonfire in the Portaferry Road area of Newtownards this evening, July 11th. One person has been taken to hospital."
