One person rushed to hospital after motor flips onto roof in horror Edinburgh crash

One person has been left in hospital after a motor flipped onto its roof following a horror crash in Edinburgh.

Emergency services raced to Easter Road in the city's Leith area at around 4:25pm on Monday, July 12.

Three police vans were dispatched to the scene as the busy road was shut down following the two-car smash.

Two fire crews also dashed to Easter Road amid the chaos as one car was left on its roof following the collision with a white van.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live onlookers had drag one person from the overturned vehicle before emergency services arrived.

It's understood one person was rushed to hospital but the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The road remained closed for more than an hour while the wreckage was removed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Easter Road, Edinburgh at around 4:25pm on Monday, July 12.

"One person was taken to hospital for treatment and the road was closed until around 5.50pm.”
