One person rushed to hospital after horror two car smash in Aberdeenshire

A casualty has been rushed to hospital following a two car collision in Aberdeenshire today.

The horror crash took place at around 2pm on the main road in the village of Echt.

Emergency services raced to the scene after two vehicles collided on the B977.

One of the people involved in the smash was then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

It is not known at this stage how serious their injuries are.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Officer received a report at 2pm of a two car traffic collision on the B977 in Echt.

"One person was taken to hospital."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were also called to the scene.

A spokeswoman for the SFRS said: "We attended the call at 14:07.

"Two appliances attended and the vehicles were made safe."
