One person has died and another has been injured following a horror crash in Rochdale, the Manchester Evening News understands.
A major emergency service response was prompted after the 'serious collision' in Littleborough this afternoon (October 17).
Featherstall Road has been taped off in both directions between Whiteless Street and James William Street from just after 11.50am.

Full details about the crash have not yet been released by GMP, but it is understood that one person has died during the collision.
Their age, gender or any information about their identity has not been revealed.
Another person is also thought to have been injured.

It’s understood the collision was in the roadworks area on Featherstall Road, where Electricity North West engineers have been working.
Emergency services have been at the scene throughout the day, including an air ambulance which was scrambled to the scene.
A vehicle is believed to have entered a ditch during the incident.
Local witnesses have reported heavy traffic in the area all afternoon, after a number of roads were cordoned off by police.
Police are expected to remain in the area for some time.
The bottom of each side street off Featherstall Road has been taped off as part of the cordon.
Two Electricity North West vans could also be seen parked up on nearby Ashwood Drive.
A number of residents in the area reported having no power this afternoon, with Electricity NW confirming on their website that there had been a power cut.

Around 1,000 customers living in the Littleborough area are said to be affected. The company say they aim to have power restored in the area by 6pm this evening.
A spokesperson for the fire service said earlier today: "Just after 11.50am this morning, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Featherstall Road, Littleborough, involving a car that had gone into a ditch.
"Two fire engines from Littleborough and Rochdale fire station, and a technical response unit from Ashton, arrived quickly at the scene.
"Firefighters used winches and other specialist equipment to lift the vehicle and extricate one person who was conveyed into the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
"Crews remain in attendance at this time."
