One per cent of Arsenal fans back Kroenke ownership, Supporters’ Trust survey finds

Just one per cent of Arsenal fans believe Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) are good owners, according to a recent survey by the club’s supporters’ trust.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST) undertook the survey in June 2021 as part of their attempts to gather the views of their membership and to inform their submission to the Government’s fan-led review into football.

Trust members were asked 11 questions as part of the survey, while also being offered the chance to provide written comments.

One question in the survey asked: Are Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) good owners of Arsenal Football Club? The results came back with just one per cent of fans saying yes, with the other 99 per cent giving no as their answer.

Another question asked: Is the current Arsenal Board fit for purpose and doing a good job running Arsenal? Just one per cent said yes, with 89 per cent saying no and 10 per cent answering unsure.

The prospect of buying shares in Arsenal was also asked and 91 per cent of fans said they would be interested in doing so.

There was also big backing for the introduction of a “golden share”, which would allow fans to veto events such as the club’s name or colours changing. 94 per cent said they’d back such a measure being introduced.
