One ‘Peacemaker’ theory isn’t looking to great for Chris’ dream alternate universe

Season 2 of Peacemaker has given Chris Smith (John Cena) an impossible choice: Does he stay in his own universe where his life is complicated or does he take over the life of another universe’s Chris Smith? But the decision may not be as easy and it currently seems.

A theory has been going around online that the alternate reality that Chris found may not be as great as he thinks it is. Why? Well….Auggie Smith (Robert Patrick). That’s really all we really need to remember. Auggie in Chris’ normal timeline is a racist who is known as the White Dragon. He has a loyal legion of fellow racists and Chris ended his father’s life.

But then came season 2 of Peacemaker and everything we thought we knew about Auggie got thrown out the window. Maybe…

**Spoilers for Peacemaker season 2**

In episode 3 of Peacemaker, fans got a deeper look into this universe that Chris found. They got to see an Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) that is a little more feminine than our normal Emilia is, Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) is still alive, and A.R.G.U.S is a seemingly normal place to work. As Chris says, it is the best dimension ever. Well unless you think too much about what is going on in that universe and realize that there are seemingly only white people there.

Yes, this “dream” universe seems to lack diversity and has white people running things. So pretty telling that there is still a bomb that Chris has to stop in this “dream” universe filled with white people. But hey, we don’t know everything yet. It is just very suspicious given Auggie’s other universe persona that there is seemingly only white people running around town.

Is this universe too good to be true?

I do think that this universe is setting something up. We all had our theories about whether or not that’d be how Chris ended up in the DCU since he was in Superman but that was easily answered with a clever retcon at the start of the season. Which then begs the question: What is this universe really here for? We’d have to assume that the purpose of it is so Chris will learn how to cope with his own universe but that means there’d have to be something WRONG with this “perfect” world.

And right now, Chris is just too happy to exist in a world with a loving father and his brother, Keith (David Denman) to actually question what is wrong with this timeline. After seeing the growth that Chris went through in season 1, I don’t see him completely ignoring the warning signs but also if fans of the show have enough sense to know that something is up, maybe Chris should be more on top of things.

He’s too busy being iffy with Emilia Harcourt (when we know his universe’s version of her would HATE what he’s doing) to really pay attention. So until he does, we’ll have to hope that we’re all wrong because….right now, something is off.
