One part of the Liverpool City Region records a rise in positive Covid tests

An area of the Liverpool City Region recorded an increase is positive Covid infections

According to the latest data from Public Health England, in Halton there were 532 positive tests in the seven days ending September 30 - 57 more cases than the previous seven days.

This means the percentage change week on week increase was 12% in Halton.

The areas of the Liverpool City Region that saw decreases were: Knowsley by 9%; Liverpool by 14%; St Helens by 8%; Sefton by 8%; Wirral by 17%.

In the Liverpool City Region overall, there was a 10% drop in the percentage change week on week figure.

Warrington saw an increase in its percentage change week on week figure. And West Lancashire and Cheshire West and Chester recorded falls.

England recorded a rise in positive tests in the week ending September 30. The country had 190,247 coronavirus cases - that's 6,476 more cases than in the previous seven days.

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,376 cases in the week ending September 30, which is 224 fewer cases than in the previous week.

This meant the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 14%.

The latest infection rate was 274.9 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 532 positive tests over the last week, which is 57 more cases than in the previous week.

This means the week-on-week percentage change increased by 12% in the week ending September 30.

The latest infection rate is 410.0 cases per 100,000 people.

Knowsley

There was a total of 484 cases in the week ending September 30, which is 47 fewer case than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 317.5 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 9% week on week.

Wirral

There were 830 positive tests in the week ending September 30. which is 175 fewer cases than in the previous week.

Wirral's week-on-week percentage change decreased by 17%. The latest infection rate was 255.9 cases per 100,000 people.

St Helens

There were 675 positive tests in the week ending September 30, which is 55 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate was 372.7 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change decreased by 8%.

Sefton

There was a total of 1,089 cases in the week ending September 30, which is 88 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 394.7 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 8% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 4,986 positive tests over in the week ending September 30, which is 532 fewer cases than in the previous week.

This means the week on week percentage change decreased by 10%. The latest infection rate is 292.82 cases per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 372 coronavirus cases in the week ending September 30, which is 14 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

This mean there was a week on week percentage decrease of 4% in infections. The infection rate was 324.90 per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 838 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 30, which is 224 more cases than the previous week.

The week on week percentage figure increased by 37%. There was an infection rate of 400.20 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,352 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 30, which is 21 fewer cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 393.22 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage decrease of 2% in cases.

England

In England in the week ending September 30, there was an infection rate of 338.83 per 100,000 people.

The nation recorded 190,247 coronavirus cases, which is 6,476 more cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week on week percentage increase of 4% in cases.
