One of UK’s cheapest flats to buy at auction from just £5,000 - and it's in the North East

A studio flat in a County Durham town is on the market for £5,000, a whopping 98% cheaper than the average property price in the UK.

The flat, at General Bucher Court, Bishop Auckland, boasts a studio room, kitchen and bathroom with a toilet.

For those worried about buying a property in the current climate, have no fear as there is another option.

Despite the coronavirus crisis, some new properties are still coming up at auction - and there are huge bargains to be had.

The Bishop Auckland property will cost you around £247,000 less than the average UK house price, which currently stands at around £252,000.

Prospective buyers are promised a town centre location, close links to Bishop Auckland Hospital, and easy access to the A688 and A1 (M) and Bishop Auckland railway station.

Due to Government Guidelines physical viewings of the property are limited, but prospective purchasers are advised to view the virtual tours online.

The studio space is on the market for £5,000 (Allsop LLP)

The property is up for auction on February 18 and more information on the property can be found here.
