One of the UK's first Christmas babies of 2020 arrives to delighted parents

A family are celebrating today after receiving the best Christmas gift they could have hoped for.

First-time parents Kim, 33, and Donald Dallas, 32, from Edinburgh, welcomed a very special delivery during the early hours of Christmas morning.

The tot who hasn't been named, is currently known as baby Dallas as the new mum and dad make up their minds.

He was born at NHS Lothian's Birth Centre, part of the Simpson’s Centre for Reproductive Health at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at 4.10am on Christmas Day.

He tipped the scales at 9lb 2oz.

Baby Dallas was not due to be a Christmas Day baby, however decided to arrive a little later than planned.

At present, no Christmas Day babies have been born at St John's Hospital.

Although he was not initially due on Christmas Day, their newborn son could be the first of a raft of festive babies.
