A trail of large Snoopy figures has been set up across Cardiff as well as Caerphilly and Porthcawl. The trail will feature 115 Snoopy sculptures, big and small, has been launched in south Wales to raise money for Dogs Trust.
There are 40 large Snoopy sculptures all with different designs by different artists placed around Cardiff, Porthcawl and Caerphilly and 24 have been designed by Welsh artists and there are 75 smaller Snoopy sculptures which have been decorated by local schools and community groups.
However one of the statues has had to be removed after damage. The Welsh Wildflowers Snoopy, at the rear of Caerphilly Castle/Crescent Road in Caerphilly is sponsored by Caerphilly County Borough Council. But has had to be removed.
Caerphilly council has confirmed on its Facebook page that the statue was damaged by 9am on Friday morning - just after the trail went live - and is being repaired. In a post, the council wrote that there are currently five as one has been "vandalised".

It is raising money for Dogs Trust and trail maps are available from various outlet across the trail route including from Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre in Cardiff and the A Dog’s Trail Shop in Mermaid Quay, which is open for the duration of the trail selling everything from Snoopy plush toys and tote bags to dog collar charms and doggie accessories.
Once the trail has ended, there will be a final chance to see all 40 large Snoopy sculptures together at a farewell event at Cardiff City Hall Lawn in Cardiff from June 16 -19.
