'One of the funniest guys' Tributes paid to Edinburgh dad after tragic death

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a young Edinburgh dad after his tragic death.

Popular Ryan Farrer, 31, passed away on Sunday with friends taking to social media to express their shock.

Mystery surrounds the circumstances behind his death, which is the second time tragedy has struck his family in recent years, after his gran, June Spiers, died after a blaze broke out in the living room of her Granton flat five years ago.

Friends of Ryan took to social media to remember him.

James Austin Burnetto posted on Facebook: “Rest in peace Ryan Farrer. I’ll always remember how nice you were to me and how funny you were - gutted.”

Others recalled fond memories of spending time with the man they described as “funny” and a “gentleman”.

Sheila Clark wrote: “What a great guy he was - can’t believe he is gone - wee gentleman. So sad, gone too soon, fly high Ryan.”

And Michelle Whytock added: “Rest in peace Ryan Farrer - one of the funniest guys.

"We had the best times listening to Lana Banana - our pished song - dancing about the living room like absolute bams.

"Love u pal, never forget u, thinking of all your family.”

Other friends expressed their heartbreak in emotional posts at Ryan being taken away so suddenly.

Simone Miller Ormsby posted on Facebook: “Ryan can’t believe I’ll never speak to you again - RIP my friend.”

And Donna McFarlane added: “Sleep tight mate. I’ll see you on the other side one day.”
