A much-loved Merseyside park has been "destroyed" by vandals.
Originally known as Coronation Road Recreation Ground, the Coronation Park in Crosby is centuries-old.
In the 1930s it was known for its "big slide", one of the biggest in the area.

Volunteers at the park were horrified to find pathways had been decimated, and large wooden and concrete slabs had been thrown into the lake, yesterday morning (Tuesday).
One volunteer, Kevan McNulty, said: "This was the site that greeted us this morning in Coronation Park."
People living near the park were quick to comment on Facebook.
One woman said: "I'm lost for words.
"My grandparents' home, and my mum and auntie's from 1932, was opposite the park.
"If they were all to come back they'd be astounded. They'll be turning in their graves. It's a total disgrace."
Another said: "Some youths of today behave like feral animals."
A third wrote: "We can't have anything nice, everything gets destroyed sooner or later."
Coronation Park is looked after by Sefton Council's Green team.
A spokeswoman for the council told the ECHO : "Our Green Sefton rangers and community groups work hard to maintain our parks and outdoor spaces for all to enjoy, so any act of vandalism or anti-social behaviour is incredibly disappointing.
"Council staff have visited Coronation Park to assess the extent of the damage and the repairs now needed.”
