One of Manchester's most popular summer bars is returning to Spinningfields

Popular Spinningfields garden bar The Lawn Club is set to make a return to the city centre this month.

Providing a quintessentially British-themed venue, the bar will offer a range of cocktails, craft beers and wines plus a weekly-rotating street food menu.

The outdoor bar was one of the most popular alfresco drinking spots until it closed in 2016 to make way for Allied London's 'urban oasis' - which has included the opening of The Ivy .

The construction of the No. 1 Spinningfields tower which houses rooftop restaurant 20 Stories also forced the closure.

The Lawn Club will be reopening at Hardman Square, in the heart of Spinningfields, as a pop-up operated by WePop on June 7.

Although The Lawn Club will only be open until the end of summer this year, the space is due to become a permanent structure in the following year.

As well as a covered veranda bar, there will be deck chairs set out on the lawns.

Michael Ingall, Allied London's chief executive, said: "The Lawn Club, which was a joint venture between Allied London and James Wrigley, was one of our biggest place-making successes when we launched it in 2014.

"Over the last few years we’ve worked hard to further the Spinningfields estate, making it a greener space that continues to be a real destination for dining and drinking.

"This pop-up will be a celebration of the hard work done and pre-empt the next phase of development which will see a permanent structure built on the site."

The Lawn Club will be open seven days a week, between 12pm and 8pm Monday to Wednesday, and 12pm to 11pm Thursday to Sunday.
