One of Liverpool's oldest properties is on the market for £845k

One of the oldest properties in Liverpool is on the market in Liverpool's historic Georgian Quarter.

The building, which is located at number 35 on Rodney Street , is up for sale with Marshall estate agents for £845,000.

Dating back to 1783, this historic property was the first house to be build on Rodney Street on a site leased by William Roscoe, the Liverpool abolitionist and poet.

A black plaque on the property's red brick frontage details the buildings history on one of the city's oldest streets.

It's a long time since this building was solely used as a residential home and it's now split into different units for businesses and tenants.

While this is a rare opportunity to buy up part of Liverpool's history, any interested investors will need seriously deep pockets to afford it.

A listing uploaded to property website RightMove says: "A freehold mixed use investment opportunity located on Rodney Street in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter.

"Rodney street is steeped in history and has for many years been the most sought after address for medical and legal professionals in Liverpool.

"In recent years Rodney street has started to attract residential interest and the Georgian Quarter is now firmly established as a prime residential and business location within the city centre.

"This substantial Grade II listed building comprises of a mix of commercial and residential space."

The property has a basement area with a ground floor reception and consulting rooms, plus officers and a kitchen.

Photos uploaded to RightMove show the building's current use with a physiotherapist based downstairs and a main reception area.

While the photos focus on the commercial spaces, there are some clues to the building's incredible history with stained glass windows and exposed beams.

On the first floor are more consulting rooms with office space, while the second floor has a studio apartment and two-bedroom apartment.

Photos of the top floor show exposed brick walls and ceiling beams, as well as a circular porthole-style window offering a quirky design feature.

The third floor has even more office space and there are six parking spaces in a courtyard at the back of the building.
