One of Leeds' oldest pubs is looking for a new landlord and landlady.
The Old Red Lion is looking for a 'live-in joint management couple' to run the recently refurbished inn on Meadow Lane, on the edge of Leeds city centre.
The pub, which is believed to date back to the late 18th century, closed suddenly in October 2018.
But the tavern, owned by Tadcaster-based brewery Samuel Smith, reopened in February 2019.

Now according to a job advert on Gumtree the brewery is looking for a new landlord and landlady (or two landlords or two landladies).
The listing says: "Live in joint management couple required to run refurbished traditional pub with open fires and trade kitchen in improving area of central Leeds near the river Aire."
You get a 'good managers' flat' with rent and utility bills paid by the brewery as part of the salaried position.
The job application closes on March 6, 2020.

Leeds' Oldest Pubs
Whitelock's Ale House

Whitelock's opened in 1715 as the Turk's Head when it served merchants and market traders working a stone's throw away at Briggate.
The licence was granted to John Lupton Whitelock in 1867 and purchased by his family in the 1880s.
The Pack Horse

Touted as 'Leeds Oldest Pub', The Pack Horse is believed to date back to 1615.
The gable end of the pub has a rare Templar Cross which is apparently one of only two left in England.
