One of Bristol's biggest soft play centres is to close

On a rainy day or when the kids just need to let off some steam, there's nothing better than taking them to a soft play centre.

But across Bristol parents only have a handful of venues to pick between for this activity.

And sadly one of the biggest in the city has just announced it plans to shut by the end of the month.

PlaySpace based in St Phillips, shared the disappointing news over the weekend - and parents are not happy.

A spokesperson for the company, which has been open for more than a decade, blamed 'increasingly reduced financial returns' and 'high business rent' for the decision.

They wrote on Facebook: "After almost 13 years of providing a valuable service for families from all over Bristol, sadly PlaySpace has reached the end of the road.

"Our final day of Business will be Tuesday 30th April.

"The owners and managers would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for their support over the years, and hope that in years to come you will retain many fond memories of your visits to PlaySpace.

"For us it has been great fun and (for the most part!) very rewarding, and without the constant goodwill of our customers it would not have been anywhere near as enjoyable as it was.

"Until then, it’s business as usual.

"We have made friendships with all of you over the years so please do come and visit us before we close.
Let’s make the Easter holidays the best ever. Thankyou so much."

The spokesperson also confirmed the venue would be 'fulfilling all parties in the diary'.

Scores of parents voiced their disappointment at the news.

One mum wrote: "Such sad news - we travelled from South Glos to visit as I thought you had the best layout for mixed ages, great food and lovely craft sessions."
