A Queensland MP has denied being drunk and disorderly when he was involved in an altercation on a flight from Brisbane to Mackay.
One Nation's Stephen Andrew was returning to his Mirani electorate on a Virgin Australia flight last Friday, after spending the week in state parliament, when an alleged incident involving other passengers occurred.
Virgin Australia has confirmed there was an incident aboard the plane.
"While we're unable to release specific customer details due to privacy reasons, we can confirm that a disorderly passenger incident occurred onboard VA621 from Brisbane to Mackay [on April 22, 2021]," the airline said in a statement.
News Corp has reported there was an "ugly altercation" aboard the flight in which Mr Andrew accused a family of being "child traffickers".
The family has declined to comment, however a source close them has confirmed the report to the ABC.
When contacted by the ABC, Mr Andrew rejected the claims.
He said he was not drunk or disorderly and told the ABC he was trying to help as he had concerns for a child on the plane.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said police attended the Mackay Airport on the evening of April 22.
"[This was] in response to a call for service relating to interactions that occurred on an aircraft," the spokesperson said.
"The matter continues to be subject to inquiry.
