'One more to go' Leeds United fans send the same message after Ian Poveda signing

Leeds United have finally completed the signing of Manchester City winger Ian Poveda, much to their supporters' delight.

The 19-year-old becomes the Whites' second signing of the January transfer window, following Elia Caprille's move.

With Poveda's contract set to expire in the summer, Leeds have paid a small fee to the Premier League champions for the winger, who has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal until 2024.

It's been drawn-out negotiations over Poveda, with  LeedsLive  first reporting on January 10 of Leeds' interest.

Interest emerged from Italy and Spain for his services but after careful consideration, Poveda opted to remain in England and move to Elland Road.

He adds a further option on the wing for Leeds, who were short a man after Jack Clarke was recalled by Tottenham at the start of the month.

Leeds' new number seven could make his debut on Tuesday night when United host play-off chasing Millwall at Elland Road.

The news of a new signing has left Whites supporters feeling optimistic, although Poveda does arrive as an unknown quantity.

The general consensus from supporters is that, with a week remaining of the window, signing number three must follow shortly, and he must be a striker.

Here's a recap of how Leeds fans reacted to their new number seven on social media.

With a week left of the January transfer window, the hunt for a striker continues.

Negotiations over Che Adams are yet to progress, leaving the Whites scouring for alternative options to their first-choice target.
