The latest fatality was reported at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

It's the first death in the region to be recorded in three days.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Tuesday, April 6, is:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 645

  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9

  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 1,173 (+1)

  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 552

  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 580

Across the UK the Government said a further 20 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the total to 126,882.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 150,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 2,379 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,364,529.

Numbers for cases and deaths over Easter will be affected by incomplete data plus a longer than usual lag in reporting.
