One more added to SA's COVID-19 tally

Steven Marshall says a small spike in virus cases in Sydney isn't enough to reimpose restrictions. (AAP)

South Australia has reported one new case of COVID-19 in a returned traveller.

SA Health says the man in his 20s recently arrived in Adelaide from overseas and returned a positive test while in quarantine.

He is not considered infectious with officials believing he came down with the virus some time ago.

But his case has been added to the SA tally because it was first diagnosed after he arrived.

A woman in her 40s has also tested positive for the virus but as her infection was first detected while overseas, she is not being added to the SA total.

There have been 473 cases of coronavirus reported across the state since the start of the pandemic.

Only three are still considered active.

With 10 new COVID-19 cases reported in NSW on Friday, SA officials are urging people travelling in and out of that state to keep a check on latest updates.

SA recently lifted borders restrictions with NSW to allow people to travel to South Australia without the need to quarantine for 14 days.

Premier Steven Marshall said the small spike in cases in Sydney was not sufficient to reimpose restrictions.
