Two men are fighting for their lives after being shot multiple times as they sat in a vehicle in north Dublin on Friday afternoon.
One of the men was blasted while sitting in the driver seat of a car in Killeek Lane near Dublin Airport at around 12pm.
The second man, who also in the car at the time of the incident, was shot in the back - both are understood to be in a critical condition.
A source told Dublin Live: "Two men were shot in the car. The driver was shot five times and another passenger in the car was shot in the back."
A short time later, a car was found burnt out in the Greenwood Avenue area of Coolock.
Reports are also circulating that a second car has been discovered burnt out near a north Dublin pub.
