One lucky National Lottery player becomes Boxing Day millionaire with festive win

One lucky National Lottery player became a millionaire on Boxing Day after scooping the second largest prize.

Wednesday's Lotto jackpot will be an estimated £5.1 million after no-one won the top prize in Saturday's draw.

But the next biggest prize of £1 million, for five numbers and the bonus ball, was won by one lucky player, for the perfect Boxing Day boost.

Some 53 ticket holders bagged £1,750 after matching five of the six numbers.

The winning numbers were 26, 43, 44, 46, 52, 55 and the bonus number was 06.

Set of balls eight and draw machine Lancelot were used.

No-one matched all five numbers to win the Lotto HotPicks, although three people picked four out of five to win £13,000 each.

The winning Thunderball numbers were 03, 07, 14, 33, 38 and the Thunderball number was 14.

No-one matched all the numbers plus the Thunderball to win the £500,000 top prize, but one ticket-holder matched five numbers to win £5,000.

THE NATIONAL LOTTERY ‘LOTTO' DRAW RESULTS FROM SATURDAY 26TH DECEMBER 2020

It comes just two weeks after one lucky ticket bagged a record EuroMillions jackpot of €200million (£175million).

That prize made them instantly richer than Adele (£150m), Sir Tom Jones (£170m), golfer Rory McIlroy (£170m) and all four of Little Mix combined (£48m).

The previous biggest win was €190m, which has twice been won in the UK, once in Spain and once in Portugal.
