One killed, two injured in Samut Prakan car accident

SAMUT PRAKAN: The driver of a car was killed and two passengers in another car injured after the two vehicles overturned in an accident in Bang Phli district early on Sunday.

Pol Capt Wattanakij Yod-at, a Bang Phli police duty officer, said the accident occurred about 30 minutes after midnight at kilometre marker 19 on the out-bound Thepharak road in tambon Bang Pla of Bang Phli district.

Wasan Soseri, 30, the driver of a Honda Jazz, said he was taking four people from Rua Bin market towards Bang Saothong district, when a motorcycle pulled out of a soi and cut in front of his car. He slammed on the brakes, causing the car to overturn before coming to a rest upside down. His 30-year-old wife and their ten-year-old daughter were injured and taken to Chularat 3 Hospital by workers from a rescue unit.

A Honda Civic following the Jazz at high speed skidded off the road and rammed into a roadside power post. The driver, identified later as Narong Sarakuding, 30, was killed behind the wheel.

Police were investigating the accident.
