One Irish punter considerably richer on night EuroMillions jackpot of €220 million finally won

The EuroMillions jackpot of €220 million has finally been won - by a player in France

The winning numbers were 21, 26, 31, 34, 49 and lucky stars 2 and 5.

And the biggest Irish winner on the night matched five numbers and has a hefty €33,932 waiting for them in Lotto HQ.

There was no winner of the Ireland only raffle.

Tomorrow's Irish Lotto is also a record breaker and is capped at €19,060,800.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, a National Lottery spokesperson said: “Could this be a truly record-breaking weekend for National Lottery players? With both the highest EuroMillions jackpot ever up for grabs as well as the largest Lotto jackpot ever seen in Ireland, the stakes are high for players dreaming big. As both jackpots are now capped, we are set to see even bigger winners across the weekend as the additional funds will now flow down to the next prize tiers at which there is a winner.

"Ahead of both draws, we are appealing to both EuroMillions and Lotto players to purchase their tickets early and to avoid queues where possible if purchasing in retail. Don’t forget that the deadline for purchasing EuroMillions tickets is at 7.30pm this evening while the cut-off time for Lotto ticket sales is at 7.45pm tomorrow. Tickets can also be purchased through the National Lottery app and at www.lottery.ie.”
